Radioactive waste

Almost all use of radiation and radioactive substances results in radioactive waste. The Norwegian Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (DSA) has the right to make recommendations and offer advice as regards licences for construction and operation of the combined repository for low-level and intermediate-level waste at Himdalen.
