Strålevernet har de senere år arbeidet med flere prosjekter for å styrke sin atomberedskap, også i forhold til terrorhandinger. Som en del av dette arbeidet, er det etablert et mobilt målelaboratorium som skal bedre Strålevernets krisehåndteringsevne, for eksempel på et skadested.
