This bulletin provides information about recent cooperation meetings organized jointly by the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority (NRPA) and the Russian Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA). The aim of these regulatory and research meetings was to present the progress within five current projects, to consider future activities within the scope of regulatory cooperation, and to discuss proposals for research projects that might support scientifically the development of regulatory supervision.

The Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority established an Environmental Unit at the Polar Environmental Centre in Tromsø in the summer of 1999. The aim of establishing the unit in Tromsø was to further the monitoring programmes of the NRPA in the Arctic and to the promote collaboration within the Polar Environmental Centre.

Import og eksport av radioaktive strålekilder
16. januar 2025For å importere eller eksportere radioaktive strålekilder kreves det som hovedregel at man enten har godkjenning eller tillatelse fra Direktoratet for strålevern og atomsikkerhet (DSA), eller at man har gitt melding til DSA.

Strålevernet avslutta i desember 2010 undersøkingane av radioaktiv forureining i reindriftsutøvarar i Kautokeino, som vart starta i 1965. Gjennomsnittlege konsentrasjonar av cesium-137 i kroppen ved avslutninga var 8 becquerel per kg (Bq/kg), som ikkje er vesentleg høgare enn elles i den norske befolkninga.

Melding av strålekilder
10. januar 2024Mange typer strålekilder er underlagt meldeplikt. Virksomheter som anskaffer eller bruker meldepliktige strålekilder må registrere sin virksomhet og strålekildene i DSAs meldesystem for strålekilder.

Radnett - overvåking av radioaktiviteten i omgivelsene
29. juli 2025Radnett er et landsdekkende nettverk av 33 stasjoner som kontinuerlig overvåker radioaktiviteten i omgivelsene. Formålet med målenettverket er å gi et tidlig varsel i tilfelle et ukjent radioaktivt utslipp rammer Norge.
